An exhibition of 270 mini prints, MiniPrint Cymru | Wales celebrates the mass appeal of printmaking as an artform.
Unconstrained by the small-scale format, this impressive collection of prints expresses the rich creativity of artists from across Wales, and showcases the imaginative possibilities offered by printmaking techniques

MiniPrint Cymru | Wales is an initiative designed to raise the profile of Wales-wide printmaking through the collaboration of regional partner organisations: Mostyn (North), Swansea Print Workshop (South), Aberystwyth Printmakers (West) and the Regional Print Centre (East).
Developed from a pilot project in 2023 led by Swansea Print Workshop, the ambition of MiniPrint Cymru | Wales is to create a sustainable, Wales-wide biennial event with regional partner organisations hosting the programme and exhibition on a rotational basis.

Our Selection Panel had the most challenging task of selecting 270 mini prints for display, and I am truly grateful for the time they took to consider the huge volume of submissions, their commitment to the process and their professionalism. The artwork selected is testament to the strength and breadth of creativity and talent in Wales.

Andrew Baldwin | “Having first discovered printmaking nearly forty years ago, I am still amazed and excited by the possibilities this process-based medium can offer. The MiniPrint Cymru | Wales exhibition is an example of how this visual art can produce such a range of wonderful images from a broad selection of artist printmakers. Rather than compromising this expressive medium, the image size restriction for this exhibition has meant that each mark holds greater resonance and meaning.”
Jude Lau | “The incredible response and volume of entries really proved that Welsh printmaking culture is alive and kicking. It backs up what we’ve all been saying – print is not dead. Even with AI everywhere these days, people still value traditional processes and handmade printed artworks just as much.”
Rhian Wyn Stone | “It was a pleasure to be invited to co-judge this year’s MiniPrint Cymru | Wales, alongside respected print practitioners Andrew Baldwin, Ruth Thomas, Jude Lau and Tom Whitehead. As expected the standard of work was high and we look forward to exhibiting the selected pieces at Mission Gallery, Swansea. We would like to thank the team at Swansea Print Workshop, judges and all applicants for making MiniPrint Cymru | Wales once again a reality. MiniPrint Cymru | Wales celebrates and supports creative talent and participation in printmaking and Mission Gallery is delighted to be a small part of this Wales-wide initiative.”
Ruth Thomas |“I was delighted to be asked to be on the selection panel for MiniPrint Cymru | Wales 2025 and found it so interesting to see all the work submitted, much of which was of a very high standard. We selected individually and then met to discuss the submissions and the reasons for our choices, before making a final decision. This exhibition brings together a wonderful collection of small-scale prints created with a wide range of print processes, demonstrating the diversity and creativity possible within the medium of printmaking. MiniPrint Cymru | Wales deserves to be a permanent fixture in thecalendar of exhibitions in Wales!”
Tom Whitehouse |“Working alongside printmakers from across the region was brilliant – it confirmed what we already knew about how strong our community is, and opened doors to some exciting collaborations down the line. These connections are helping us push Welsh printmaking forward and keep it thriving.”
