SPW hosted 4 international travelling exhibitions of miniature prints from Wingtip Press in Idaho USA alongside mini prints from Swansea Print Workshop members. Leftovers II | Leftovers V | Leftovers VI | Leftovers VIII.
History of the Exhibition | Wingtip Press in Boise, Idaho is a community printmaking studio that offers community workshops for adults and children, one on one training and studio equipment rental. The studio has a deep and rich commitment to the community of Boise and values those who value the arts.
During a clean-up of the studio dozens of little scraps of printmaking papers were found jamming up the file drawers. The printmakers at Wingtip Press realized they probably weren’t alone with the dilemma of what to do with all those too-precious-to–toss leftover paper scraps.
An invitation went out to fellow printmakers to participate in a print exchange to use all those lovely leftover scraps to create a small edition of prints. Artists submit an edition of 15 prints of any size up to and NO LARGER than 5 inches by 7 inches and receive a dozen prints in return. Two prints are reserved for travelling exhibition, one print reserved for silent auction to support Idaho Relief Task Force.
Since then exhibitions have been sent out all over the world.
